Dr. Kapil Gupta is a board-certified gastroenterologist and hepatologist dedicated to advancing digestive health through compassionate, patient-centered care. Born and raised in South Florida, he founded Broward Digestive Care in 2024 to serve the local community with top-tier gastrointestinal services.
Dr. Gupta entered the accelerated Honors Program in Medical Education at the University of Miami, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency at University of Miami/JFK Medical Center – Palm Beach Regional GME Consortium.
Following residency, Dr. Gupta pursued subspecialty training at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, completing fellowships in hepatology (2020–2021) and gastroenterology (2021–2024), during which he served as Chief Fellow.
He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both gastroenterology and internal medicine and holds active licenses in Florida and New Jersey. Dr. Gupta is affiliated with Broward Health (including Imperial Point and Medical Center) and HCA Florida Westside Hospital.
Dr. Gupta is an accomplished researcher with over 60 publications addressing liver disease, IBD, endoscopic techniques, COVID-19’s GI impacts, and more. He is nationally recognized for advanced endoscopic interventions such as ERCP and EUS.
Fluent in English, Hindi, Spanish, and Urdu, Dr. Gupta is proud to serve a diverse patient population. Outside of medicine, he enjoys sports (a former high school football player), supporting local teams, traveling with family, and staying active in community-focused healthcare initiatives.
