Dr. Julie Schottenstein is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Additionally, Dr. Schottenstein is a Board Certified Independent Medical Examiner experienced in dealing with Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury patients, as well as performing Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs).
Dr. Schottenstein, a native Miamian, completed her undergraduate studies at Boston University. She went on to earn a Master’s degree from Barry University in Biomedical Sciences before graduating in the top 10 percent of her class with her Doctorate degree from Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Schottenstein then completed an extensive three year surgical residency, specializing in foot and ankle reconstruction at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Miami, Florida. During residency training, Dr. Schottenstein received advanced training in foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma, sports medicine, diabetic limb salvage, and wound care. Following residency, Dr. Schottenstein completed her Fellowship training in advanced Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery, and she now serves as clinical faculty for the fellowship program. Dr. Schottenstein holds a clinical faculty position for five different residency programs.
